Hi there! Finally Gpt-4 has arrived. It’s an exciting time for the world of Artificial Intelligence (AI).

When ChatGPT (the previous version 3.5) was released, it took the internet by storm.  We’ve all been asking ChatGPT a bunch of questions and wondering how it responds.

Now Open AI, the company behind ChatGPT has released its latest model called ‘GPT 4’. It is a multimodal large language model which promises to be super exciting with some new features.

GPT stands for Generative Pre-Trained Transformer, is a language processing artificial intelligence developed by OpenAI. It is a large-scale, deep learning language model that uses machine learning techniques to generate human-like text.

ChatGPT and GPT 4 are both large language models. However, they differ in terms of their size, capabilities, and intended use cases.

what does ChatGPT do?

ChatGPT simulates dialogue, we can have a conversation over text, we can communicate through text.  No matter what it is, it can answer our questions.

It can also generate text in different styles or formats, such as summarizing a long article into a few sentences or generating poetry or lyrics based on a prompt.

What can GPT-4 do?

Taken from FirstPost

OpenAI claims that GPT-4 is more advanced in three important areas: creativity, visual perception, and context handling.  GPT-4 is said to be better than its predecessor in terms of creativity, allowing users to design and collaborate on creative projects.

One of the main features of GPT-4 is to accept images as inputs and generate captions, classifications and analysis which means users can share images with GPT-4 and receive responses according to the visuals.

In addition to creativity and visual input, GPT-4 can handle much longer text than its predecessor, with the ability to use and analyze text over 25,000 words.

How is GPT 4 better than ChatGPT?

As an AI language model, GPT-4 and ChatGPT are both highly advanced and capable of producing human-like language responses. However, there are several key differences between the two models:

Size:

GPT-4 is a much larger model than ChatGPT, with 100 trillion parameters compared to ChatGPT’s 175 billion parameters. This means that GPT-4 has access to a much larger pool of data and can generate more complex and nuanced responses.

Taken from BecomingHuman

It can generate responses up to 25,000 words, eight times more than ChatGPT, which is limited to about 3,000-words.

Functionality:

GPT-4 was designed to perform a wider range of language tasks, such as translation, summarization, and question-answering, whereas ChatGPT is primarily focused on generating conversational responses.

Availability:

Currently GPT-4 is not available for free.

It is available to ChatGPT Plus subscribers, we need to pay $20 per month for premium access to the service.

Limitations of GPT-4

Despite these new improvements, GPT -4 has some limitations.

Most importantly…similar to ChatGPT, GPT-4 is unaware of events after September 2021, which can cause common logical errors and accepting false statements as true.

Conclusion

Overall, GPT 4 is more versatile modal and can be used for a wide range of natural language tasks. While ChatGPT is a specialised language model for conversations.

Hi there! Let’s know How USB Condom protects our data? Nowadays, Smartphone has become part of our life. We use it while walking, traveling, sleeping and waking up. Our life is going from mobile and from mobile battery.

To read in Telugu Click Here

When you need a quick charge of your phone or other device, it is easy to connect to any untrusted computer or public charging station. We use USB cable to charge our mobile, as well as it is also used to transfer data.

You connect your mobile to it and start charging the battery. But have you ever thought how safe it is to do so?

And imagine when we are in a public place and there is no mobile charge, then we use the USB installed in that public place to charge our phone. We don’t know where that USB cable was connected to.

But when it is connected to a place from where your data can also be accessed, your data will be stolen from your phone. You will not even know.

These USB ports, widely available in public places, can be used by cybercriminals to steal our most sensitive data.

To avoid this, so-called USB Condoms or USB data blockers have been introduced.

USB condoms are used for smartphone security and data security. This is a simple device that prevents data exchange when your device is plugged into another device with a USB cable. It only allows electricity to go to the battery for charging.

USB Condoms achieve this by blocking the data pins in the USB cable and allowing only the power pins to connect through. This protects the user’s data from Juice jacking.

What is Juice jacking?

Juice jacking is a type of cyber or virus attack. In which cybercriminals steal data by installing malware on your phone, tablet or other device through a USB port used in a public place. So it is recommended to use USB Condom when you charge your mobile or other device in public places.

How to use USB Condom?

A USB condom is like a USB adapter.  It has two different sources of input and output.  That is, the phone is first connected to this condom with the help of a cable, and then connect the condom to the USB port. Thus, you can protect your data. I hope this article might be useful.

Thank you!

We all experienced at some point in time when we have to send/share files between your laptop or desktop to Mobile or vice versa. For that one file, we have to attach a USB cable and then accept the permissions and find that file in the ocean of the file manager and it’s a long process to do the same from PC to mobile. If it is a large file, sending it via Google drive or Telegram takes time and data.

Apple iPhones have the feature of sharing files between devices locally connected over the same Wi-Fi network.

Unfortunately, there are not many trusted apps for the windows side to share files locally. This is where Snapdrop comes in to make it easy for sharing files between your devices. Be it two mobiles or two PCs or a PC and a mobile. As long as they are all connected to the same wireless connection, we can share files between any two just like Apple Airdrop.

How to Use Snapdrop:

Using Snapdrop is very simple. We just have to install the app from Playstore for Android devices. For Windows, we don’t need to install anything. We have to go to the Snapdrop website that’s it. Snapdrop names all the devices randomly.

Install on mobile: snapdrop – Android Apps on Google Play

Website: Snapdrop

When we head to the website, it shows all the available device names on the Wi-Fi. To send files, click on the device name and you will be able to send files. The speed of sharing depends upon the Wi-Fi connection.

On top of that, it is free and Open source that means, software with source code that anyone can inspect, modify, and enhance and NO ads.

Hi there! Do you know What actually happens when we Refresh? I have seen a lot of people hit the Refresh as soon as they open their system or when they think their laptop is running slow.  It is believed that Refresh option refreshes our System.

So let’s understand What actually happens when we Refresh our desktop?

To read in Telugu Click Here

When you right-click on your Windows desktop and select Refresh or press F5 button. It just refreshes the contents of Desktop or files and icons in an appropriate folder.

Desktop is nothing but a folder stored somewhere on your hard drive and by refreshing it means you’re reading the contents of the folder and displaying them once again.

Through this process any files or folders they were somehow changed. For example created, moved, deleted, renamed will now be displayed and all these changes will affect now, and you can even see this happening when you click refresh.

All the icons disappeared for a split second, and then they reappear. You may even see some new icons because they were created in the meantime.

The reason these icons aren’t appearing right away is because even though Windows automatically refreshes its folders sometimes there’s a delay, or it just doesn’t happen.

When to Refresh Manually?

Sometimes, when you copy, move, rename something to the desktop or when any icon or shortcut is created by any third party application, it is not displayed after it is created. So, to display that we have to Refresh manually.

If you thought that refreshing your desktop will make your system run faster that’s definitely not the case. In terms of performance it doesn’t do anything. It will not refresh your system or clears RAM.

Conclusion

So with all this being said the Refresh option in Windows is not really necessary especially nowadays when PCs are more powerful and everything is refreshed and updated automatically.

So if you have a bad habit of nervously refreshing your desktop multiple times. You should definitely work on that hopefully this article will make you understand how Refresh exactly works!

Hi there! Wanna hear something interesting thing? Have you ever wondered that computers or Laptops are also categorized by gender?

I know it sounds funny but yes!  Computers or Laptops are classified by gender.

Isn’t it strange right!?

How to Know your Laptop Gender?

So now you want to know if your Laptop is a male or a female? Continue reading to find out the gender of your computer or laptop

  • Open Notepad
  • Copy or type the following text

CreateObject(“SAPI.SpVoice”).Speak”Welcome to So Called Happenings”

[Note: You can type whatever the text you want within the double quotes]

Save it as .vbs extension

For Example: gender.vbs

Now gender.vbs file will be created.

Simply double click on the file  you will hear a sound.

If you hear a male voice, then your computer is male or if you hear a female voice, then your computer is female computer.

Let me tell you the concept behind the voice we hear from Laptop.

SAPI(Speech Application Programming Interface) is an interface that makes some requests and responds to the requests.

SAPI 5 was developed by Microsoft to allow the use of Speech Recognition and Speech Synthesis.

Later some third parties like  text-to-speech (TTS) system (which converts normal language text into speech) engines set to SAPI 5 version voices and proposed a number of advanced features such as voice recognition, text to speech, accent recognition, gender detection using voice.

The default voice we hear, was set during testing period of the laptop or system. Some default voice packs get updated and added each time when an operating system is upgraded.

The default voice in the system can be helpful to access the features or tools we use regularly.

You can change the default voice. People set/create different tones to make the experience more enjoyable.

Let me know the Gender of your Laptop in the comments.

YouTube

Hi there! Have you ever wondered why YouTube ads don’t buffer and why video buffers?  Continue reading to find out.

To Read in Telugu Click Here

As per YouTube’s Algorithm, short-length videos will get loaded first. So, in general Ads are short and cached in “YouTube’s local data centers” with respect to the Area living.

But videos in YouTube are comparatively big files. They can be of any length hence are not stored in the local data centers.

The process by which these videos play is instantaneous as we play them, so it takes some time and this time taking is called “Buffering”

Ads are generally smaller compared to the size of YouTube videos. A video can be any length, but an ad lasts a few seconds. So an ad loads quickly!

Why do most of our ads come in Telugu or any local language?

Ads on YouTube are cached on local data servers! (like if you are staying in Telangana/Andhra Pradesh, Telugu ads will come not all the time of course)

Everyone may have noticed that sometimes YouTube video is not buffered even when we lose internet connection for a few minutes. This is because it takes data in advance to play the video and preloads the video for smooth play without buffer.

You could have seen that whenever you watch a video, there is a red color line running in it and a white color line is running in front of it. The white line indicates that the data was used to preload the video. And Yellow dotted points can be observed in long videos. So if the red line meets the yellow dots, there may be a chance to get an ad.

How ads work on YouTube?

There are 3 key players when it involves YouTube monetization

The viewers, the creators, and the advertisers

From the point of view of the viewers, they want YouTube to be the best place to find and enjoy entertaining content

From the point of view of the creators, they want YouTube to be the optimal platform. Here they can produce content which the audience loves and for those who choose to and qualify, how to earn money too.

And from the point of view of the advertisers, they want to provide a safe environment for them to reach their target audiences with precision.

3 players

These 3 players(Viewers, Creators, Advertisers) work together.

– Creators increase the audience, advertisers buy ads to reach the audience and viewers watch your videos with relevant ads.

YouTube makes money through advertising. So if ads start to buffer too, YouTube will not be able to make money. So they give priority to their ads. But that doesn’t mean they’re going to avoid content for us.

Thank you!

MediaTek Processors, when some phone is launched with this chipset then the first thing that comes to any tech-trained brain is overheating and low performance. But that’s all in the past. Counter price has given this global smartphone chipset market share and the 1st place still retains by MediaTek.

In this session, let’s see how MediaTek went from meh to yeah and stayed on top for 4th consecutive quarter.

Once upon a time..

Let us go back in time to 2016 and back then the smartphone knowledge is not as like it’s today. No one cared for specs that much, brand value is something that all people looked at. Companies made a lot of profit using this. Samsung as usual doesn’t care about the market, they launch whatever they want. They still get sales because of their brand. Below is the market share in 2015.

This is the time when we are seeing Green and Blue banners in the Indian market, filled with celebrities and eye-catching looks. One well of a camera and expect camera the device was practically a downside in all other aspects like they were selling low-resolution 720p devices for 20,000.

So do you think they’ll use any good processor? no, they didn’t. Instead, they choose from MediaTek, which then makes budget processors. These companies wanted something to run their mobile and didn’t much cared about its performance. So, they choose the basic processors from MediaTek and launched a ton of mobiles in the Indian Market. They made so much profit.

If all is well, where can MediaTek go wrong, there’s the catch. Companies are doing well but the customers who bought the mobile and using them aren’t happy. This maybe because of laggy performance or overbeating or maybe something else.

Market Changes

At the same time, online shopping in India is becoming new normal and many people are interested to buy online rather than going to shops. Internet availability is increasing and Xiaomi shifted its focus towards India and launched devices that we call value for money. They took fewer profits and managed to deliver killer specs for the price.

Thanks to YouTube, many tech channels started. Thus more and more people started watching their videos and creators too were very vocal about the smartphones. They said the reality of the smartphone market in India and how companies are releasing sub-par devices.

Slowly people started to notice the back of the package where specs are written usually and asked for better.

Also at the same time, online gaming on mobiles picked up and guess what! People who bought the green-blue mobiles struggled to keep up with the rest and reason, low-powered chipsets.

Evolution of MediaTek

The bottom line was MediaTek chipsets were not as efficient as Qualcomm counterparts. This changed slowly as MediaTek took it seriously and came up with P series chipsets focusing on “Performance” and they were good. Some notable ones are Helios P60 that we saw on Realme 1, which sold crazily back in the day and made Realme a worthy opponent of Xioami or Redmi.

Since then MediaTek introduced some decent chips for the budget mobiles, making them their first choice for manufacturers. Then next year they introduced G line up for budget gaming and many mobiles were released based upon these. Even now mid-range mobiles from Realme and Redmi like Realme 8, Redmi Note 10s came with G95 and the performance wasn’t bad, especially they even outperformed Snapdragon counterpart SoCs in quiet scenarios.

MediaTek Dimensity

Last year MediaTek announced their top-of-line Dimensity chipsets taking head-on with Qualcomm’s top dogs 8 series chipsets. We saw a bunch of mobiles launching with them. We can say the main feature of these are, they are 5G ready and are less costly than that of Qualcomm’s 5G chips.

Times like now when companies want to use 5G as a tag for their promotion, MediaTek became the go-to for almost all companies, even OnePlus launched a mobile with MediaTek processor i.e. Nord 2 with the latest MediaTek Dimensity 1200. Almost all Chinese makers used it in one of their models. They are at least 5-7 devices in the market with the same chipset.

I cannot say that it’s on Snapdragon 888  or Apple A14 Bionic level yet but who cares they are powerful enough to run anything you throw at them without lag and capable enough to play all the games at maximum settings possible and are pocket-friendly. MediaTek built many chipsets in the Dimensity lineup for various budgets all with 5G ready and currently, the cheapest 5G mobile in India.

Realme Narzo 30 Pro and Realme 8 5g has Dimensity 800 processor and Dimensity 700 processor respectively. Even the first Redmi 5G device, Note 10T is powered by Dimensity 700 SoC. So we can say that MediaTek has rectified its mistakes and more than that they brought A-game for the budget segment.

Let’s see what Qualcomm has in store and let’s hope that it brings some good budget chipsets with 5G ready and give competition to MediaTek. At the end of the day I say it is a win-win for us customers, as we get the benefit.

Let’s end this here. This is what I have to say about MediaTek processors. Comment down if your mobile is powered by MediaTek.
