The Mongol Empire is famous for its vastness and brutality. In 1279 the empire took up 16% of all of the land on Earth and was home to about 1/4th of humans on the planet. Like all the empires the Mongols came and went. But what if suddenly the Mongol Empire Re-United now. This is an exploration of what this hypothetically would look like. For this, we should suspend disbelief that this could ever happen.

Extent

The Empire would stretch from South Korea to Poland. It could have been even bigger if a few more things have gone right for the Mongols. They tried invading Japan twice, but couldn’t conquer due to the weather conditions on The Japan Sea and also tried to invade Indonesia once, but guerrilla fighting in the jungle in the 13th century wasn’t exactly the biggest strength of the Mongol Empire.

Mongols also pushed west as for as Gaza in Palestine. They also raided into Austria and northern Italy in Europe before being pushed back. So, this map is the maximum amount of land they ever controlled at one time in 1294. So, this would be the borders of the modern-day Mongol Empire if it recreated again today.

Countries under Mongol Empire

28 different countries which included all of China, Mongolia, Korea, Persia (Iran), Pakistan, Afghanistan, Turkistan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Armenia. Parts of Russia, India, Hungary. At times Burma, Vietnam, Thailand, and Cambodia. Also some other modern countries would lose all or some of it territory to this monstrosity.

Population

The total population of the beast would be 1.9 billion, making it by far the largest country in the world. This in terms of both size and population just like the old Mongol Empire was. About 1/4th people in the modern world be a citizen of this Empire just like in the 13th century.

Biggest Cities

Top 15 biggest cities in the Empire, 11 out of them would all be located in China. Only one biggest city would even be located outside of Asia, Moscow in Europe. The 3 biggest cities would be Moscow, Beijing, and Shanghai. We would need to decide on a capital for the country to get behind. It might be a logical choice would be Ulaanbaatar, which is the current capital of Mongolia, but Ulaanbaatar wasn’t even founded until 1693 long after the Mongol Empire had already collapsed and only has a population of 1.3 million people today, or about half of all the Mongolia’s modern population.

The city is surrounded by extremely sparsely populated land and is very far away from the rest of the empire, so the most logical choice of capital would probably be Beijing instead which not only is the current capital of China but was a historical capital of the Mongol Empire under, the Kublai Khan, back when it was known as Khanbaliq. Beijing would be the second biggest city in the Empire. It has an enormous infrastructure already in place since it is already the capital of China. We would of course have to rename the city back to Khanbaliq.

Ethnicity

As for the actual people that would make up this Empire. 66% or 2/3rd of the population would be ethnic Han Chinese which would likely dominate the country. The next two biggest ethnic groups would be the 6% of Russians & 4% of Koreans. The remaining 28% would be a mix of dozens of different groups. Hilariously the modern Mongol Empire, ethnic Mongols themselves would only account for 0.16% of the total population.

Language

As per the languages, 51% of everybody in this country would be speaking or able to understand Mandarin Chinese, which would likely become the official or one of the official languages. Russian would be understood by around 11% of the country and would be the second-largest language. A combination of three other Chinese languages knows as Wu, Yue, and Min combined would be understood by 10.5% of everybody. The next two biggest languages would be Korean and Urdu with 4% and 3% respectively.

Religions

The Empire would also be extremely religiously diverse and surely everybody living inside would think that’s going to be just fine. About 58.5% of everybody would adhere to Traditional Chinese Folk Religions while Sunni Islam would be the 2nd largest belief system at 12.1% of the population. Buddhism would be next at 5.3% followed by Orthodox Christianity at 4.6%. Shia Islam at 4.5%. Protestants at 2.2% and Catholics at 0.8%. Atheist and Non-Religious persons would account for the remaining 12% of the population. This also means that the modern Mongol Empire would be the world’s largest Muslim country, largest Atheist country, and 3rd largest Christian country by numbers of people.

Economy

The Mongol Empire would also have a very powerful economy with a nominal GDP of 18-19 Trillion U.S dollars. Which means that despite having all this land, It would still only be the world’s second-largest economy remaining behind the United States 19-20 Trillion U.S dollars. The GDP per capita would be $9355 meaning the citizens of the would-be ranked with 62nd place slightly behind the conditions in Malaysia and Mexico.

Military

Mongol Empire would also have an estimated military size of 6 Million active soldiers. It will make Mongol military by far the largest in the world.

Conclusion

It’s fascinating to think what this country would look like? What would this government look like? How would conduct its diplomacy with the rest of the world, and could it survive for very long ?? is the biggest question if it was reunited.

Location Of Mountains

The Ural Mountains, also called the Urals, Russian Uralskie Gory or the Ural, mountain range forming a rugged spine in west-central Russia and the major part of the traditional physiographic boundary between Europe and Asia.

Area2.225 Million km²
Elevation1,895 m
Highest PointMount Naradonaya

These Mountains are located at “Sverdlovsk Oblast”. Man discovered just ¼ of these mountains.

Many wild ducks, geese, and swans breed there in summer. But the richest and most varied fauna in the Urals, including the brown bear, lynx, wolverine, and elk, are found in the forested zones. Some have valuable furs: the sable (in the north), ermine, fox, marten (in the south), Siberian weasel, and squirrel.

Latitude And Longitude Coordinates

60.2785° N, 59.1619° E

Climate

The climate of the Urals is continental. The areas west of the Ural Mountains are 1–2 °C (1.8–3.6 °F) warmer in winter than the eastern regions because the former are warmed by Atlantic winds whereas the eastern slopes are chilled by Siberian air masses.

People Around It

A group of 10 college students who are Experts in Hiking wants to explore the mountains, this team was led by Igor Dyatlov and started their journey towards the mountains. According to their plan, it takes 14 days to return to their home.

How they spent their days?

As we know that these students are well experienced and experts in hiking. One of the members of the group maintained a diary to write everything that they did in the mountains.

Day – 1 in the diary

It states that. All are happy !! and climate is favorable for hiking and noted that they started their hiking from the starting point of the Ural Mountains.

Day – 2 in the diary

On the way, they fought with the tribal people called Manis who lived there.

Day – 3 in the diary

They reached the Mountain of Death. There, they saw some strange animal hunting a deer in between the trees.

Day – 4 in the diary

They felt someone following them, But they couldn’t see anyone.

Day – 5 in the diary

One of the members of the crew, Yuri Yudin started going back due to illness.

Day – 6 in the diary

They were in the middle of the thick forest.

Day – 7 in the diary

They were just a few hours away from their destinations. Their compass stopped working all of a sudden. They felt something moving around them in between the trees.

In the night, they saw some lights in the sky through their camera and captured them.

“They were Killed very cruelly.”

Conspiracy Theories Around It

  • Avalanche
  • Mansi Tribes
  • Infra Sound
  • Aliens
  • Yeti (The Snowman)

The situation of the place

As they didn’t return even after three weeks since they went hiking, their family members filed the missing complaint. Then the higher authorities with the help of the military started the search operation using the helicopter. They found the campsite, but no one is there and not even their bodies. A mile away from this campsite, they found two dead bodies under a tree. They have nothing on their bodies except underwear.

Some traces were found suggesting that they tried to climb that tree, they found three more bodies a little away from the tree. Their faces were pressed down into the ice. The injuries were found on their heads and hands.

Authorities came to know that they fought with someone to escape from them. Later, they found four more dead bodies, there were killed very brutally. After they came to know through postmortem of their bodies, one victim had a fractured skull, their ribs were fractured, Eyes were taken out from one body, The tongue was cut out from the mouth of one victim. All the internal organs were damaged a lot.

According to these reports, it was known that no human will have the power to do so much damage and this was caused by an unknown compelling force.

Then thinking of how they were killed so cruelly….

Avalanche

If it is an avalanche, the location on the mountain was entirely unlikely for such an avalanche to have occurred it seems.

How to survive if you get caught in an avalanche | AccuWeather

Scientifically that mountain is not suitable for the avalanche formation.

Mansi Tribes

They suspected the Mansi tribes, but after enquiring them, the thing that came to know is they just advised them not to go that side, it is not a safe place. Moreover, as per the postmortem report, no human can do that. So there is no point that the Mansi tribe killed them.

The Lights

The lights which they captured through the camera are not UFOs or Aliens. At that time, near that place Russia tested a double stage rocket, they are the lights of that rocket. So not the point of Aliens and UFOs.

Infra Sounds

When the wind blows at a speed in between the mountains covered with snow, then it would create the infrasound. This sound may induce panic attacks in humans. Listening to that sound, they might have attacked each other feelings vaguely.

Then, they found a paper at the tent in that campsite. It was written that The Snowman Exists.

Yeti (The Snowman)

It is known as Russian Yeti. The Yeti is an ape-like huge animal that is said to inhabit during the Ice Age. The scientific name of these huge animals is termed as Gigantopithecus. They went extinct 30,000 years ago, but they said that there are chances for them to survive in remote areas like Siberia still.

As per their behavior analysis, came to know that they would attack only when they get afraid just like snakes, and also they only eat the soft tissues. So, the damage occurred in the internal organs of these dead bodies only they have the power to use such force.

The conclusion is, this yeti has been following them from the beginning. But it didn’t attack them. At that same time, when the Russian military has been testing the double stage rocket, the lights, and sound produced in the sky. While they were capturing those lights from the tent. This yeti got scared of the rocket sound and started coming towards them to attack. They observed that and they got panic and made a slit at the backside of the tent with a knife, even though they were dressed improperly, they started running away due to the fear of death. Then the yeti attacked them and killed them.

The government did not announce this report officially, but it is known unofficially.

Later, a memorial plaque was installed in memory of these nine dead hikers. But Dyatlov Pass Mystery is the topmost mysterious case in the history of Russia and The world.
